Top 40 Songs of 2012: Foals – Inhaler

#Top40Songs2012 by Sam Skilton
Foals continue to mature as a band. They were always likely to struggle to surmount the euphoria of 2010’s ‘Spanish Sahara’, but if this sounds like any of their ‘Total Life Forever’ singles, the opening minute or so brings back the jingly jangly beat of ‘Miami’. This is a new Foals though, a darker, heavier and rockier Foals, exhilarating in its own unique way. Yannis’ voice is more powerful than ever, but it remains equally as spine tingling.
