Top 40 Songs of 2012: Janice Graham Band – Murder

#Top40Songs2012 by Sam Skilton
If the credibility of up and coming artists was measured by individuality, then Janice Graham Band would be at the top of the tree. The ska/reggae sounding group from Manchester have distinctiveness in abundance, and have received as many rave reviews for their live energy as their songs, attracting the attention of Mani from The Stone Roses. Their best offering is ‘Murder’, which consists of a dub beat, blended with the grittiness of punk. Oh, and throw in some chilling screams, sinister lyrics, deafening trumpets and a roaring megaphone too. This is a track which simply cannot be ignored.
