#Top40Songs2012 by Sam Skilton
Is it possible to dislike Madness? Sure, this may not be as much a reflection on the pogo-instigating, baggy trousered, ska beat which saw the Camden band rise to success in the 80’s, but it’s undeniably Madness. You can sense that ‘My Girl 2’ was supposed to present its face at a modern day disco. In a strange way though, it recalls the groove of 50’s and 60’s Northern Soul, think ‘Tainted Love’. It’s uplifting, and it’s one which even Bambi on ice skates could get away with shaking his hips to.
