A feature on Roger Daltrey in this weekend’s Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club matchday programme has sparked rumours that The Who are set to tour the UK again this summer.
Brighton took on Arsenal at The Amex Stadium on Saturday in the fourth round of the FA Cup, but were eventually beaten 3-2 by the Gunners.
Daltrey, who lives in West Sussex, was quoted in the programme as saying: “Because of Quadrophenia, the city of Brighton is really close to my heart. But I’m a Gooner through and through, so hoping for an Arsenal win today.”
The Who’s frontman could not be at the game in person because he is currently performing alongside Pete Townshend in America as part of the band’s 2012/2013 ‘Quadrophenia Tour’.
But with the feature suggesting that The Who “will be making an exciting announcement” next week, fans have started to speculate that stadium concerts at The Amex Stadium this summer, or even a full UK tour, could be on the way.
