The Boomtown Rats are the latest act to be confirmed for this summer’s Isle of Wight Festival for what will be their first performance for 26 years.
Bob Geldof will front the new wave/post-punk band for the first time since 1986 in a UK festival exclusive when they perform on Sunday 16th June.
The main headline slot on the festival’s closing day is already filled with Bon Jovi taking the honours, while The Killers (Saturday), The Stone Roses (Friday) and Happy Mondays (Thursday) have also been confirmed as headline acts.
Last week Paul Weller was also confirmed to play at the festival, which is one of the earliest of the year, taking place between 13-16th June.
The former frontman of The Jam joins the likes of Jake Bugg, Palma Violets, Bloc Party and The Maccabees on the bill.
