Top 40 Songs of 2012: Palma Violets – Best of Friends

#Top40Songs2012 by Meka Beresford
Even if you don’t have a sweet tooth you’re bound to love the new kids on the block, Palma Violets. The four London lads came onto the scene back in 2011 and gathered a big fan-base by spreading their psychedelic rock sounds via YouTube and local gigs. The band have released just three songs so far but with its misleading intro, upbeat rhythm and raspy vocals, ‘Best Of Friends’ has won the top spot. The hit came about late in 2012 and quickly became an ultimate party song for rock lovers across the country. Its simple lyrics provide a helping hand to many drunken gatherings as friends come together to serenade one another with the masterpiece. The band, who were discovered at Studio 180 in Lambeth, are scheduled to release an album this month and if ‘Best of Friends’ is anything to go by, it’ll be a delectable feast!
